120419 Girls’ Generation: Most popular female artists in first half of 2012
Girls’ Generation has been selected as the most popular female artists in the first half of 2012.
According to Leespiar Research Institute on April 18th, the survey entitled ‘The Study On Level of Popularity of Celebrities In The First Half of 2012′ was conducted on 1,329 participants and Girls’ Generation, who garnered 26.9% of the votes, topped the ‘Female Artists Division’. Park JungHyun, whose great performance took MBC’s ‘I Am A Singer’ by storm, topped the similar division in the second half of 2011.
IU, who released her 2nd album ‘Last Fantasy’ in November last year, came in second with 15.3% while Wonder Girls took the third spot with 7.3%. Lee HyoRi came in fourth with 7.1% followed by
Baek JiYoung in fifth with 6.5%. miss A secured the sixth position with 6.2%.
In the ‘Male Artists Division’, Big Bang topped the survey with 18.1%, followed by Lee SeungGi in second with 11.3%. 2PM came in third with 8.1% while Rain and 2AM took the fourth and fifth spot after garnering 6.9% and 5.7% of the votes respectively.
