110714 SNSD 1st double-platinum Japanese studio album released in Korea
On July 13th, SNSD released their 1st Japanese studio album in Korea through various Korean music sites online. There has been good responses since its release on July 13th. Their 1st Japanese album "Girls' Generation" was released last month on June 1st and has since then achieved double-platinum, selling over 500,000 units within a month. This has marked them the best international-selling artist in Japan so far this year.
They are the first South Korean girl group to take No.1 on the Oricon Weekly Chart for the album category. The album includes their Japanese hits "Gee," "GENIE," "Run Devil Run," and "MR. TAXI," as well as the Japanese version of "Hoot," and the new song "Great Escape" and "Bad Girls," totaling up to 12 tracks.
SNSD will return to Korea to prepare for their Seoul concert on July 23rd and 24th at the Seoul Olympic Park Stadium.
